Bacoor City  Schools Division Office, through its Curriculum Implementation Division, organized a webinar series titled: Development and Utilization of Print and Non-Printed Pivot Learning Materials Using Idea Model. The webinar aims to prepare educators as they transition from traditional teaching methods to distance learning modalities. The web seminar series was held from June 17-19, 2020, and was attended by over 200 dedicated participants.

The first day of training was opened by Division Librarian Jennifer U. Cruz and moderated by Educational Program Supervisor for MAPEH Gina A. Manas. The webinar was also graced by the presence of Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Lerma L. Flandez. In her welcoming message, Dr. Flandez emphasized the importance of “mapusong serbisyo” among public servants especially educators.
After pleasantries, Ms. Cruz introduced the first facilitator, EPS for Mathematics Anthony Zeus Caringal. Mr. Caringal tackled various topics such as the Budget of Work, Most Essential Learning Competencies, and revised number of MELC’s for each grade level.

The second session of the first day was facilitated by CID Chief Editha B. Gregorio. She discussed important subjects such as the Pivot 4A lesson exemplar and the Alternative Delivery Module. They further explored the subjects in a Q&A session headed by chatbox moderators, EPS for TLE Zoilo V. Handayan Jr. and EPS for Filipino Leonora M. Medina.
EPS for Kindergarten and SPED Michael Acuna lively opened the second day of the webinar. The session was facilitated by EPS for Araling Panlipunan Nereus V. Malinis. Dr. Malinis discussed the preparation of the lesson exemplar using the IDEA format. The facilitator also answered inquiries from school heads and teachers in a discussion facilitated by chatbox moderator, EPS for Science Helen A. Guiterrez. This is followed by a breakout session where EPS’s guided school heads and teachers in creating their own lesson exemplars.

The concluding day of the webinar series was hosted by Dr. Leonora M. Medina and moderated by Mr. Zoilo V. Handayan Jr. Before the session starts, SDS Editha M. Atendido delivered an inspirational message where she expressed her gratitude for the educators’ willingness to learn new things in order to continue education. Dr. Atendido also encouraged educators to be proactive in order to thrive amidst the challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The last leg of the webinar series was reserved for the demonstration of the educators’ learnings. Ms. Daisy Mendoza, an Araling Panlipunan Teacher from Gov. P.F. Elementary School along with Ms. Mercy Ann Giere of Bacoor National High School – Molino who teaches Technical Drafting, stepped up to the challenge and performed a mock-class session based on the lesson exemplars they prepared on the penultimate session. After the demonstration, the teachers were given technical assistance by their field’s respective EPS’s. Dr. Nereus V. Malinis along with Mr. Zoilo V. Handayan Jr. dissected their sessions and gave valuable pointers that they as well as other educators can apply in their classes.

The Division Webinar on the Development and Utilization of Print and Non-Printed Pivot Learning Materials Using Idea Model is the latest of Bacoor SDO’s effort to advance DepEd’s Sulong Edukalidad campaign. It utilized techniques laid out in Guidelines in Implementation of MELC PIVOT 4A Budget of Work (BOW) in All Learning Areas for Key Stages 1-4.
